Created by the duo Lee-Kirby in 1964, Quicksilver is one of the many key-supporting actors of the Marvel Universe, a figure whose success is certainly not comparable to the most famous heroes, but who contributed significantly to create that global narrative storyline so dear to all fans of the House of Ideas. Pietro Maximoff, in fact, is a truly cross character! For a long time he was believed son of Magneto and played in the ranks of the evil mutants; subsequently, he sided with Captain America and Hawkeye in defense of freedom and justice, up to marry Crystal, the longtime girlfriend of the Human Torch. Then, his deeds are interwoven with the stories of the most important groups, from X-Men to Inhumans, from Avengers to Fantastic Four. Bowen has dedicated to the character one statue (sculpted with Tom and Joy Snyder and released in 2008), produced in three colored variants, according to the costumes of Comics: a "retro green" version (800 copies), a blue one (1000 copies) and an exclusive named Solid Blue, characterized by a very limited edition (200 pieces), which maintains the blue also on the lower abdomen, usually colored in black. The pose is frontal, static with folded arms raised at chest, as to emphasize the strong and lofty character of the hero. The body is slender, with well-proportioned muscles on abdomen, back and especially on legs, where the definition of quadriceps and flexors stand out. The visual impact in the green variant is ensured by the contrast of the two brilliant green tones which characterize the suit, while in the solid blue variant the dominant pale blue of the costume perfectly matches a captivating pearly white on gloves and boots; the typical thunderbolt characterizing the figure, on both forehead and back, improves the good appearance of the whole. The face is really well done and expressive, with angular somatic traits very similar to Comics, and exhibits the typical blue eyes and the white, combed back hair, eyebrows and sideburns. Usually, the Quicksilver Statue does not have high prices and it's pretty easy to find it on the market, especially the green and blue versions, while this exclusive Solid Blue is more expensive and rare, due to the limited run. In essence, a handsome classic Bowen piece, equipped with a great elegance and appeal.
